Built for Charities Like Yours

Last updated: 2026-02-19

We know what it’s like

You’re a small charity. Maybe you have one part-time administrator, or maybe it’s entirely run by volunteers. Your donor records are in a spreadsheet — possibly several spreadsheets, possibly a mixture of formats accumulated over years. Gift Aid sounds great in theory — 25p extra for every £1 donated — but the process of actually claiming it? That’s another story entirely.

You know you should be claiming Gift Aid. You might even have tried. But between chasing missing declarations, cleaning up inconsistent records, formatting HMRC spreadsheets, and navigating the submission process, it falls off the priority list. It’s not that you don’t care — it’s that there aren’t enough hours in the day.

We understand, and that’s exactly why we built Gift Aid Boost.

You don’t need a finance team

Gift Aid Boost was designed specifically for charities without dedicated finance staff. You don’t need accounting software, a CRM system, or any technical knowledge. If you can save your donor records as a CSV or Excel file, you can use Gift Aid Boost.

Our system handles all the complexity that would normally require specialist knowledge. It understands your messy spreadsheets, sorts out duplicates, fills in gaps, chases missing declarations on your behalf, and produces HMRC-compliant claim files. All of it happens automatically.

The complexity is our problem, not yours. You upload your files and download your claim spreadsheet.

Here’s what you actually need to do

Upload your donor data as CSV or Excel files. Download your HMRC-ready claim spreadsheet each month and submit it to Charities Online. That’s it.

We handle everything in between — however messy your records are, our system turns them into money in your charity’s bank account.

You upload, you download, we do the rest.

No upfront cost, no risk

You pay nothing until HMRC pays your charity. Our fee is 10% of the Gift Aid successfully claimed. If we don’t recover anything, you owe nothing.

There’s no minimum claim size. Whether your charity recovers £500 or £50,000, the same straightforward pricing applies. There’s no monthly subscription, no setup fee, and no lock-in. You can stop using us at any time — your data is always yours.

We designed our pricing this way because we believe it aligns our interests with yours. We only succeed when your charity receives money from HMRC.

There’s probably money sitting in your records right now

HMRC allows Gift Aid claims going back 4 full tax years. Even a small charity with 100 regular donors could have thousands of pounds in unclaimed Gift Aid from donations that have already been made.

Consider this: if your charity receives £20,000 per year in eligible donations, that’s £5,000 per year in Gift Aid — or £20,000 over 4 years. That’s money your donors intended for your charity. They ticked the Gift Aid box because they wanted HMRC to top up their donation. It just hasn’t been collected yet.

For a small charity, £20,000 could fund an entire programme, hire a part-time coordinator, or cover a year’s running costs. It’s not abstract money — it’s real impact that’s been sitting uncollected because the process was too complex.

Your data is safe

We take data protection as seriously as you’d expect from a platform handling donor information. Here’s the summary:

  • Your charity remains the data controller at all times — you decide what to upload and when
  • Everything is encrypted in transit and at rest using bank-grade encryption
  • Uploaded files are automatically deleted after 14 days — only the processed records are retained
  • We never share donor information with anyone for any purpose other than Gift Aid recovery
  • We never contact your donors for marketing — ours or anyone else’s
